A Language From God | Head Elder Clerk

Scripture Reading Psalms 19:1-6 NKJV Sermon Title "A Language From God" Greetings, Dear Friends in Christ, Language is any system of formalized symbols, signs, sounds, gestures, or the like used or conceived as a means of communicating thought, emotion, etc. as in the language of mathematics or sign language. Psalm 19:1-6 shows that creation speaks a universal language — the heavens, sun, and skies declare God’s glory without words. This silent testimony is God’s way of revealing Himself to humanity. Just as creation speaks of His majesty, communion speaks of His grace. The bread and cup are symbols of Christ’s sacrifice, a language from God that we must learn to fully grasp His love. 🌐 Register for our Live Zoom Webinar: https://tinyurl.com/yc3vzk62 🔔 Stay connected with us on our journey of faith: 📺 Subscribe to our YouTube Channel: https://tinyurl.com/bderwssk 🌐 Visit our Website: http://www.paloaltoadventist.org 📘 Follow our Facebook page: https://tinyurl.com/4n8zcynh 📸 Follow us on Instagram: https://tinyurl.com/bdxjx65h God Bless You, Happy Sabbath & Have a Great Week! "Be Thou Perfect" | Head Elder Alex Clerk

Scripture Reading Genesis 17:1-5 KJV Greetings, Dear Friends in Christ, As we come to the close of another year, let us reflect on the powerful words of Genesis 17:1-5, where God says to Abram: “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless.” These words serve as a timeless reminder for us as we prepare to step into a new year. The Lord appeared and said: 1. My name is “Almighty God” (El Shaddai) to emphasize His unmatched power and sufficiency. Such a statement reminds us that no matter how impossible life’s circumstances may seem, God’s power is enough to fulfill His promises. 2. “Walk before Me” to signify a life lived in constant awareness of God’s presence. This is an invitation to deeper communion with God, characterized by trust, obedience, and alignment with His will. 3. “Be thou perfect”, or “Be blameless” to challenge us to pursue a life of holiness, not perfection by human standards, but sincerity and wholehearted devotion to God. He comes in to say the same thing to us today. I am the Almighty God, Walk Before Me, Be Thou Perfect as we bring this year to a close and start another. The Peace Christ Gives | Head Elder Alex Clerk

Scripture Reading Matthew 14:25-28 NKJV Sermon Title "The Peace Christ Gives" Greetings, Dear Friends in Christ, This Sabbath, we have the story of Jesus walking on the water toward His disciples in the midst of a storm. The disciples, terrified at first, were calmed by Jesus’ words: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” In this moment, Jesus brought peace, not by removing the storm, but by stepping into it with His presence. This story reminds us that the peace Christ gives is not the absence of trouble but His presence in the midst of it. At Christmas, we celebrate the Prince of Peace who came into a world of turmoil to bring hope and calm to every heart. Just as Jesus reassured the disciples on the stormy sea, He reassures us today—His peace is constant, unshaken by the storms of life. "The Baby Emmanuel" | Head Elder Alex Clerk

Greetings, Dear Friends in Christ, 22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” - Matthew 1:22-23 NKJV The title Immanuel, meaning “God with us,” reveals a profound truth about Jesus’ mission and identity. In Matthew 1:22-23, the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled: God became flesh, dwelt among humanity, and entered our broken world to bring hope and redemption. The baby called Immanuel assures us that God is not distant or detached. Through Jesus, He stepped into the human experience—our joys, pains, and struggles. He is not a God who watches from afar but one who walks alongside us, offering comfort and guidance. The coming of Immanuel fulfills centuries of prophecy, showing that God is faithful to His word. Immanuel reminds us that God’s promises to never leave nor forsake His people (Deuteronomy 31:6) are not just words but a living reality through Christ. He focused on their past, their present, and their future according to God's plan for them. In every instance, his admonition is the same, "Give Thanks!" As we come to another Thanksgiving Season, I wish to echo the words of Moses, "Remember to Give Thanks!" 🌐 Register for our Live Zoom Webinar: https://tinyurl.com/yc3vzk62 🔔 Stay connected with us on our journey of faith: 📺 Subscribe to our YouTube Channel: https://tinyurl.com/bderwssk 🌐 Visit our Website: http://www.paloaltoadventist.org 📘 Follow our Facebook page: https://tinyurl.com/4n8zcynh 📸 Follow us on Instagram: https://tinyurl.com/bdxjx65h God Bless You, Happy Sabbath & Have a Great Week! "The Throne of Grace" | Hebrews 4:16 NKJV

Scripture Reading Hebrews 4:16 NKJV Sermon Title "The Throne of Grace" Greetings Beloved Congregation and Friends of Palo Alto Adventist Church, Message Abstract This Sabbath, we gather to reflect on a verse that is both powerful and deeply comforting. Hebrews 4:16 says, “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” These words invite us into the very presence of God, not with fear or hesitation, but with boldness and assurance. In this verse, we find an incredible promise: We have access to God’s throne, not as distant worshipers, but as children approaching a loving Father. It’s a reminder that we don’t need to be perfect or flawless to come before Him. Through Jesus, we are welcomed just as we are—weaknesses, struggles, and all. This passage also offers us hope, especially in times of hardship or uncertainty. It tells us that God’s throne is a “throne of grace”—a place where we can find mercy, forgiveness, and strength to carry on. Whatever burdens we carry or battles we face, we have a God who understands and who is ready to help us. "To The Unknown God!" | Pastor Steve Constantine

Scripture Reading Acts 17:22-28 Greetings Beloved Congregation and Friends of Palo Alto Adventist Church, We are blessed to welcome Pastor Steve Constantine as our speaker this week. He will be presenting a sermon titled "To The Unknown God!". We look forward to an inspiring message as Pastor Constantine shares what God has placed on his heart.  Message Abstract Paul's Second Missionary Journey took him to the cities of Thessalonica and Berea where he shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ in their respective synagogues, as his custom was. After experiencing some resistance in both places, Paul was smuggled out of Berea and traveled to Athen, leaving instruction for Silas and Timothy to join him as soon as possible. In Athens, Paul followed his tradition of visiting the synagogue, still preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Because of his preaching, he was taken to the Areopagus with the allegation that he was teaching some strange ideas. The Athenians had made the Areopagus the meeting place to discuss and defend new ideas. Paul, already taken aback by the number of idols and alters to multiple gods, seized on the opportunity to address the Governing Body of Athens (The Areopagus), on the subject of an alter with the inscription; "To An Unknown God" Having visited Athens in August this year and climbing the hill of the Areopagus, I was inspired to examine Paul's Sermon and present my findings on the subject to you this Sabbath. In preparation for this weeks message, please read Acts chapter 17. I look forward to spending this time with you in worship of our Resurrected Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. "Faith or Fantasy? Can the Bible Really Be Trusted?"

"Faith or Fantasy? Can the Bible Really Be Trusted?"

Greetings Beloved Congregation and Friends of Palo Alto Adventist Church, We are thrilled to welcome back our former pastor, Dr. David Fraser, as our speaker this week. He will be presenting a thought-provoking sermon titled “Faith or Fantasy? Can the Bible Really Be Trusted?” We look forward to an inspiring message from Dr. Fraser as he shares what God has placed on his heart. Here is his message abstract: Even among the most scholastic minds of past and present generations, there is an acknowledgement that the Bible is at least a collection of good moral injunctions and inspiring narratives. From the drama of the creation story to the tragedy of Noah’s flood; from the birth of Messiah in a manger to his death on a Roman cross; from the hope of the resurrection to the ominous judgment in Revelation, there are stories that stir the mind. Yet, there is no universal agreement that what is found in the Biblical canon is more than that—a collection of good stories. But Christians believe that the Bible is a blueprint for redemption. It charts the pathway to reconciling man and God. But can we trust it? This message explores what one writer, Paul the Apostle, claimed about the body of scripture he knew. Perhaps it helps modern day Christians to accept that what they believe is rooted in faith, not in fantasy. I look forward to seeing you folks on Saturday. 🌐 Register for our Live Zoom Webinar: https://tinyurl.com/yc3vzk62 🔔 Stay connected with us on our journey of faith: 📺 Subscribe to our YouTube Channel: https://tinyurl.com/bderwssk 🌐 Visit our Website: http://www.paloaltoadventist.org 📘 Follow our Facebook page: https://tinyurl.com/4n8zcynh 📸 Follow us on Instagram: https://tinyurl.com/bdxjx65h God Bless You, Happy Sabbath!
